Portable Biodegradable Dog Food Packets

I made sheets of bioplastic using gelatine powder and glycerine. Which I then heat-sealed together. Each packet contains one portion of dry food (the size used here is suitable for one cocker spaniel).

Designed to hang off the lead, my product is aimed at owners who need meals on the go. Once used the packet can be torn up and disposed of in the ground or in a body of water

My aim when creating the material, was to use easily sourced household ingredients that could be assembled in the kitchen
To create the material, I used glycerine and gelatine powder, and heated them together for roughly 5 to 10 mins in a pan adding a couple of other ingredients. Once a thin film formed over the top I stirred it and poured it into a mould.
I let it set in sheets for a day, then removed them from the mould and set them out on a dry surface to harden.
The result was a thin, strong material, that I could then heat seal to create the packets
