15-Minuite Cities
Social Design for the Future (2043)
The future scenario for this project is set in 2043, where communities are working on eliminating homelessness. A new human rights law has been passed (2028) to ensure every member within the 15-minuite-city has a roof over their head. With an increase in funding and more shelters being built visible homelessness and rough sleeping numbers have fallen to zero. However, the shelters aren’t permanent housing resulting in individuals moving around. This opens opportunities to homeless individuals where they can make the most of not having fixed address with in the 15-Minuite-Cities.
I designed a productive space for homeless individuals to come and work or study. Giving them a permanent base where they can focus on improving their lives, and hopefully work towards getting a good education, or job and be able to move out of the shelter program. Using biophilic architecture to reduce stress by lowering blood pressure and improving physical health.
With 15-minuite-cities eliminating the need for vehicles. There is opportunity to repurpose/rewild car parks like this 5.77 hectare one in Finchley Road provides the perfect setting for this building.

My initial Idea, mapped out it went through many different iterations and designs to get to the final design seen at the top.
